April 21st, 2017
Day 1 of pool construction.   Now waiting for county inspector.
April 26th, 2017
Day 2 of pool construction.   Concrete poured.
May 4th, 2017
Day 5 of pool construction.   Plumbed and prepared for Deck Concrete pour.
May 8th, 2017
Day 6 of pool construction.   Deck Concrete poured.  The rear and sides of the lanai will be removed and the entire area will be screened in.  Also, will have solar panels on the roof of the house.  Still ahead of schedule.
May 9th, 2017
Day 7 of pool construction.   They got a lot done. Now we wait for the enclosure folks to put up the screens and tear up the lanai. Also, the electrician has to do all the wiring. The solar panel folks have to install the solar system on the roof. And after all that is done, the pool folks come back to spray in the final finish in the pool and paint the cool deck. We are very close to being done if the contractors mentioned above get here in a timely fashion.
Do I need a new swim suit? No, I think I'm good for now.

Day whatever (lost count) of pool construction.   We've had a work stoppage waiting for the screen people.  They came out today and tore out the walls in the lanai.  They will be back, hopefully, on Monday, the 22nd to do the screen.  We still may be on track to finish late next week.  The pool folks will be back right after the screen folks to finish up in 1 or 2 days.  Then we will fill the pool.  The solar folks will be here Thursday, the 25th to install the panels.  They will finish on Friday.  Also, the landscaper will be here on the same Thursday and Friday to do their thing.  So, with luck, we will be completed by Friday, the 26th of May.  And that is about a week ahead of the original schedule.  I'm ready.  I've blown up my water wings.

Day whatever (lost count) of pool construction.   After a long delay waiting for the screen folks, we have finally got the screen under way.  They should finish this on Tuesday, May, 30th.  Then we just need to get the pool folks back in to put the final layer of "StarBrite" (Gahnite) in the pool and put a final coat of paint on the cool deck.  Also still need the solar folks to install the panels on the roof.  Getting close.
June 1st, 2017
Day whatever (lost count) of pool construction.   Well, the enclosure is finally complete.  Now we are waiting on the county inspector (again).  Next, the final surface will be put it the pool and water will begin to flow.  We should be swimming sometime next week.  The solar panels and the landscaping still needs to be done but that can be after the pool is complete.  Solar panels will be in place within a week after the pool is compete.  Ditto on the landscaping.  Really close, now!!
June 12th, 2017
Day whatever (lost count) of pool construction.   The pump and filter were cranked up today.  Chemicals added.  Ready for swimming.  Just a little cold at the moment.  The solar panel folks will be here Wednesday and the landscaper will be here Thursday.  The pool folks have to come back on a non-rainy day to put the final coat on the cool deck and run the overflow thingy.  So the pool is finally ready for swimming. Just need the solar boys to warm up the water a little.  Really, Really close, now!!
